Overview
This is the largest family in the Dipsocoroidea with 13 genera and 61 described species.
Schizopterids are most likely to be collected in soil, leaf litter or at light in a wide variety of habitats from rainforest to grassland. Diet is thought to include other small invertebrates.
Distribution
The Australian fauna consists of 3 subfamilies and 1 unplaced species

. The subfamily Hypelosomatinae contains 9 genera and 35 species. The Ogeriinae has 20 species divided into 2 genera and the Schizopterinae has a single genus,
Pachyplagioides
, containing 5 species.
