Overview
Like the Scutelleridae, Lestoniidae and Plataspidae, the Aphylidae possesses an enlarged scutellum that extends to the end of the abdomen.
Little is known of the Aphylidae apart from their choice of habitat - under the bark of
Eucalyptus camaldulensis
(Myrtaceae).
Distribution
The Aphylidae are known from a single species,
Aphylum syntheticum
, recorded only from Australia.
