Overview

Apachyidae are large and strikingly pigmented and very flattened for their existence under bark. Four species of Apachyus occur on the eastern coastal plains and tablelands in rainforest and wet sclerophyll forests. They are treated as a separate family by Sakai (1982, 1987) and superfamily by Sakai (1982).
