Overview
The 9 species of stephanocircids, in 2 genera, are the spectacular helmet-fleas of Australia, so-called because of a striking modification of the head. The Australian representatives are in the endemic subfamily Stephanocircinae , while there is also an endemic South American subfamily, Craneopsyllinae.
